The great thing about not getting paid for blogging is that you can change the rules. I don't even need to explain why! But I will tell you the intimate details and then you will understand why I am postponing the posting of the multimedia extravaganza.
Deadline for poems was Monday night.
Tuesday night, one reader came to record your poems.
Wednesday was my dad's birthday so we spent the day making him happy.
Wednesday night another reader came to record your poems.
Thursday, up at 6:00 a.m., worked on audio until 7:00 p.m. with several stretching breaks.
Thursday night a glass of wine never tasted so good. Boring TV never was more of a comfort.
Friday morning (now), awoke in extreme pain, my entire right side is tight like a bow from all the computering yesterday. Still haven't done the visuals. And I have PLANS for the visuals, they are vital, they need time to place, exact and refine. And I need at least an hour for critical reflection, after all you can't just slap something together that is going to go all over the internet and have it be a big sloppy mess (did I mention I'm a perfectionist?).
You know what I'm saying? To heck with schedules Aine, I'll post it as soon as I can. It will be SOON. (As soon as I can without killing myself).
Thank you for your patience. I am THRILLED with the poetry, once again thank you all for your submissions. The caliber of your talents is fantastic.

ha! your blog. your rules. i loooove that.
Not to mention, Cat, that it's a holiday. Time to relax, reflect, pray, and enjoy the rebirth. Not time to kill yourself.
Hope the side feels better. Another glass of wine? Great muscle relaxer.
Shadow- I'm glad you understand! :-)
Karen- Funny, I was going to mention that in my post here, but I didn't want to stir religious waters. However today is kind of about the contemplation of death isn't it? Although not mine... I would have a glass of wine, but it's a little early. :-/ Maybe a date with a rolfer.
Take your time Cat... take your time.
And since you are busy you can even skip the one submitted by that Aniket guy. After reading the swell piece of that Sarah lady, he's just going to embarrass himself here. and you'll need to put in 10 folds of efforts to make it presentable. :-)
So relax, and enjoy the holidays. :-D
Happy Easter!
Aniket, trust me, you'll like it when you hear it. :-)
Cat, take care of yourself!!! I know the final product will be more than worth waiting for. (Plus, this gives me something to look forward to after my vistior arrives! See how I am trying to move into a glass is half full space?? ;) )
Enjoy the long weekend and unknot. Maybe some Rumi? :)
I am looking forward to it! And of course, there is absolutely no rush. I'm amazed by all that you are putting into this project!
J- Rumi sounds wonderful! I just came in from planting blueberries in the rain and risking my very life due to the lightening storm, but nothing is a better remedy than gardening (if you don't die from a lightening strike that is). :-)
Rachel- Me too! Am I crazy? :-) Your poem is excellent to work with.
Ack, I'm so sorry about the pain, Cat! I really wish you didn't suffer from that. By all means, get off the computer altogether and relax. We will wait, and happily so.
It's important that your vision matches the outcome, too. Knowing you, it will be spectacular. Your perfectionism steers you well. :)
(And Aniket, I don't want to hear any more of that nonsense!...your poems have been great lately)
Sorry Sarah... would never happen again.
Boy, I've never seen you so angry...
Yessss...take your time...lots of time...(and perhaps I might be able to record something over the weekend and send it to you, lol).
Hope your muscle knots work themselves out soon! Have a blessed weekend.
Sarah-I know, it totally sucks. Bodies are both the joy and bane of existence aren't they?
Blue Sugar-Thanks! I would have loved your submission, BUT I'm now at 9:30, which is exactly 30 seconds short of what youtube will allow so I think I've got all that I can handle this time. But next time please do!
ha take it in ease. we wud wait :) u take care of ur health first. have fun :)
Catherine, sleep well tonight, please. In our church we ask Him every day to "...keep us from all unecessary anxieties..."
Actually, I don't even know what I'm doing here, after I see the list of professional poets through the week. It just seemed like such a fun idea at the time.
Feel free to toss me out if you wish, no harm done, no ill feelings, etc. Believe me.
RATS! wish I had gotten it together for this one. What a wonderful idea!
I am looking forward to this project. I know it will be great. Hope you are feeling Ok if not perfect!
Hugs Linda
Wow! Can't wait to see the end product. Please stop hurting yourself in the process, though!
Remember, scheduling can be a weakness, too. There is a time for J-ness and a time for P-ness (yikes-- don't read that aloud! LOL!) To every season, turn, turn, turn...
;)
As Sarah said, "your perfectionism steers you well!" We will gladly wait.
:)
Hi Cat,
I can't wait to listen to all these audios. I apologize for not participating but I already explained how busy I am and I am still recovering from a very bad cold.
I have few poems written but they still unpolished and I do not publish anything I am not sure about it. However, your idea is great and hopefully next time I will be ready.
Enjoy the Easter Holidays!
Stay cool, Cat. What is more important is to have life, and not just meeting deadline, deadline and deadline. Have some vine and funs, please.
James Oh-I agree completely! Luckily I do this out of love and not forced into any timeline. Be happy!
