Loved your haiku Cat. Like timid children afraid to make an appearance.

Here's what I came up with:

Glad tidings you bear
of sunny, sweet days galore
warms my heart with joy

Loved the pic - Loved the Haiku.

Scooting to office right now. Am already an hour late.

I'll come through, you know it. :-)
(This doesn't count as flirting right? Right? :D :D)

up before the sun, gently
shaking our shoulders

Sinking inch by inch

In ocean of disparity

Blue blinds my eyes

Wow! What a wonderful way to wake up this morning, to find all of the joyous Cro-ku! I found myself smiling and giggling all the way down the comment section!

Cori Lynn, Welcome! You know my heart with the cat thing! I was over at your blog yesterday, and I will be back, gorgeous! You are soul kin.

Lorenzo, LOVE it, Cori's cat is going to get one of those jays!

Hi Sawan!

Margaret-Beautiful!

LGL-Love both Haikus! You got the second one right in its syllables. The second one describes Spring fever perfectly!

Joaquin-I love all of these, so wonderfully perfect! The first one, romantic and gorgeous, the second, funny and silly, the third, innocent and childlike. You are amazing!

Karen-Thanks about the picture! It was inspired by one of Jason's photographs, remember? The blue is not quite the same, but it's a good study and I'm going to keep working on getting the color just right. Lovely haiku!

Dr. JAM, GREAT to see you on here! I see your inner editor at work, and a good job it did, the last one is the best. Funny what one little word can do, yes?

Aniket Thakkar said...

You forgot me????? *sob sob*

Catherine Vibert said...

Aniket! I'm so sorry! I had a special comment for you, and then went right by! I was going to say, NO MORE SAD. It is hard to pinch your cheeks when they are frowning! I throw you a rope, find the little orange guys in the blue, they want to play!

Aniket Thakkar said...

Me not talking to you anymore!

I demand a promise for an extra large toblerone whenever we meet!

Catherine Vibert said...

Oh that's substandard chocolate. I'll bring you something extra special, I promise. There are amazing chocolate options these days.

Aniket Thakkar said...

SUBSTANDARD You call Tobleroene substandard???

I like it way better than Hershley's orLindt or M&M's, etc.

I guess I'll just have to see what you come up with. ;-)

Catherine Vibert said...

If Tolbleroni is substandard than those other things you mentioned are supersubstandard squared! No, all those chocolates taste like they are made of wax. Here, we have chocolate shops with chocolates that have chili pepper for a little kick, and one of my favorites is the chai chocolate. They are little bon bons, just one mouthful each, and so light and delicate that they melt like angels tears on the tip of your tongue.

how wonderful...

Catherine Vibert said...

Aine, that is SO beautiful, and I am THRILLED to see this little peeping of poetry from your lovely (non-photoshopped) fingers. It makes me so happy that you poe'd here. You also happened to express the same sentiment I felt when I painted it. Those little sleepyheads..., time to get up and play! :-)

Dave, Welcome! And thank you, please come back, there is much fun to be had. :-)

Hi Shadow! Welcome to the party! Feeling Haiku-ish?

I'm very honored to have a hand in inspiring this painting!!

And you even inspired Aine to write poetry! You rock!

What a gorgeous painting, Cat.

Loved your Haiku!

Dainty little birds
Like blue flowers in the grass
Or puddles of tears

Amritorupa Kanjilal said...

Cat, come read my story, for crying out loud.

Deepa Gopal said...

Cat

This is my very first attempt at Haiku
In front of all you veterans...what am I???
Still, I couldn't resist myself from not typing this...pls bear with me...

Catamaran sings
A lonely song that brims with
Melancholy;sinks!

Another one:

Sweet sojourn, my home?
A screech, a cry, a joy, O
Love, Spring is ne'er too far!

It was so tempting to write..now tht I've written, I feel unburdened!! This could very well be cald an eccentricity of an artist:)

Aniket Thakkar said...

Wow Deepa! Your paintings are great too. But you should seriously credit your writing with much more than you do. Loved them a lot. :P

Never saw this side of you. :)

Catherine Vibert said...

Jason, and it was such a wonderful Haiku! Your picture was fantastic, I am thinking I want to try this again in oil, so as to try in a different medium to capture the amazing periwinkle color of that petal. There's not quite enough red in the blue in this picture... It needs to be just short of lavender.

K. Puddles of tears! Love it! :-)

LGL-Alright already, geeze la wheeze! (just kidding, GREAT story I loved it)

Deepa-Fantastic, both of them! I'm so glad you found this little challenge inspiring, because look what little gems came out of you!

Aniket-(squeeze of cheek)

Deepa Gopal said...

I was literally peeping between my fingers for fear of the comments:)

Thanks Cat..so very much! I feel thrilled to the core...Really!!!
Thanks Ani, for being so generous:)
Yeeeeyyyyy! I am so HAPPY!

Wonderful haikus from everyone! And I, too, am especially delighted to see a lovely one from Aine. :)

Beautiful painting, Cat. I do so love those little guys.

Aniket Thakkar said...

I am totally with Jason n Sarah on this one. :)

You certainly have something about you Catherine.... To make everyone excited and post great stuff here. :)

Aine claims not to be a writer but she's outperformed herself here. :)

Great ones from everyone here...

That's why I love Haiku, everyone gets tempted to write one. :P

Cat, you rock! :D

Catherine Vibert said...

Sarah, Gorgeous! "To heck with cold, I'm comin out!"

Rachel, Gulping rays of gold...love it.

Deepa! I'm so glad you participated! Isn't it fun!

Aniket, Everyone here totally rocks, because see? Each and every one produced a gem!

Straying from the Spring theme as the weather here is Winter-like one day and Summer-like the next, here are two Haiku's that I wrote referencing two of my favorite works or Literature:

Franz Kafka’s “Metamorphoses”

awoke dung beetle
parents conceal from friend’s view
son laying in room

Albert Camus’ “L’Etranger”

mother died today
no sympathy, shot Arab
beach, hero absurd
