Poetic form: Dr. Suessian
The poet leaves cyberspace momentarily to participate in creating order in the real world.
Where is the poet?
Is she here or there?
I don't see her anywhere!
Why she is AWOL can't you see?
Back in the real world being busy!
She's painting her walls, one two and three.
This will make the poet wax so happy.
One wall is rust red, to warm her with heat,
One wall spun in gold to stay light on her feet,
The blue wall inspires creativity
Look watch her dance! She is filled with such glee!
Please be patient oh readers,
She will return soon
With a mind full of color
And perhaps with a tune...

Ah! So the muse is dancing in the stars while the more prosaic aspects of self can do the necessary nesting for the winter. Seems to me you have your priorities straight!
Cat, I think this family of women always have their priorities straight!
I think of Plato's "an unexamined life is hardly worth living" which is a good thing for muses and the rest of us in this post-election period when so much of our energy has been depleted in hopes and dreams and now it's a time for reflection, to meditate and recharge.
I look forward to what comes......
OOps, didn't mean for that to come out that we were depleted of hopes and dreams but that we'd put so many and much of our hopes and dreams and energy into this election. And didn't it pay off..............it's a period of adjustment now and reflection.
i had to laugh when i read this...from my desk in our living room i see the rust red wall of our office, the gold walls of the living room & the sky blue ceiling of our dining/kitchen (the walls are beaded board pine stain) & i can attest to the favor of the muses when one is surrounded by these colors! have fun!!
isn't it refreshing to reorder...
Rs & Mom's friend, It is amazing to me the calming effect on the mind that color has. Right now I'm just in awe of the beauty of this room. Later, I am looking forward to being inspired by the energy the color carries and seeing what comes.
Qualcosa di Bello, Great minds think alike! My entire upstairs has sky blue on the ceiling in addition to the blue, rust red, butter gold, and teals that are on the walls. They are truly glory colors. Today's project, the bathroom which will be a sea blue/green on three walls and a delft blue on one wall. Very oceanish and refreshing. Next, I'll be breaking out the sewing machine and making curtains.
Entertaining and relaxing (to read) at the same time. ;) The rhythm, the beat of the poem is spot on. This has just made my morning so much brighter.
Best of luck on your creative pursuits right at home. ;) Cheers.
don't you know... AWOL or not, the poet remains as does the art.
thanks for the visit. nice to find you here.
S.L., I'm glad that my silly poem made you smile!
Kim, Hey there neighbor. It's true, one can never truly go AWOL from themselves. Instead of writing poetry on the blog, I've been bursting at the seams with poetic profundity while listening to music and wearing out my shoulder rotator cuff. Of course none of that inspiration will make it to the written page, but will likely inspire something else that will.
LOL - great tribute to Suess. I like the creativity here. You have energy and it moves in the words so well. Took a look at some other poems as well. Your work is imaginative and artistic. Many interesting and beautiful photos and images! Great work! I'll be back around soon.
Thanks for your visit to OMM...Look forward to seeing you again. ;D
Hi K! I'm so glad you came. Your poetry is magnificent, I can't wait to read more. I can tell we're going to be blog sisters. Welcome to the club!
I smiled. :)
I hate it when life gets in the way of my writing. LOL
Just remember Thoreau: "How vain it is to sit down to write when one has never stood up to live."
Thanks Scott! Only one more bathroom to paint and I can get back to poeting.
I'm loving this one, because I'm in the middle of painting for a move. The mind keeps working in the middle of all the mundane, huh? Great read! We'll be around when you return:)
Well Julie, you have it the nail 'write' on the head. I love your new poem, brought me to tears.
