Forest Walk

As summer has fled, and chill sets in,
Gone with the warm lazy days, my languid moods,
My bones, they ache, I need to move.
My spirit longs for you and I obey
Wandering through your stately groves.

Once, in a moment not too long ago
You were young, green, and your leaves airy and bright
Now, fire has crept into your veins
Growing darker by day, yet rich in splendor
Your blood rescinds, back into the earth
Shedding your colors to the forest floor
To feed your feet in the coming storm.

I like these two photos, and the last one particularly. Very good match to the end of your poem.

Thanks AC, it's interesting that you mentioned that because for that shot in particular, I decided to try your advice to another blogger and shoot in shutter priority. I abandoned my teacher's advice to use aperture priority at least for that moment. (Don't be offended dear teacher, there are many teachers and only one me :-) I plod on in my learning...

Interesting, as I usually shoot in shutter priority when outside, unless I have a tripod and then I allow myself the luxury to shoot in aperture mode. Good work.

Yes, I am green with envy at my teacher's tripod, and mine, well, it is less than fun. When I find that pot of gold at the rainbow's end, perhaps I will splurge on a decent one.

Meanwhile, shutter priority in the deep dark forest is a very nice option. And so much easier not to have to lug around a tripod.

Cat,love the red leaves which seem to be suspended in space above the forest floor. Composition is interesting too. I feel, or is it, I want, to be right there and feel the space around me. Great!
