Beauty from the Dust

We crumble, we can not help this
Our dreams, thoughts and loves will all fade in time,
As beauty grows from the dust.

This is the most beautiful so far! These are all lovely, Cat, and creative, and evocative. You are a woman of immense talent. The words are so true. I love the orchid, coming from dust. We crumble. True.

By the way, I would hang this on my wall.

Ditto to Rispa for dittoing Karen! Not that this is a surprise. We always knew you were talented.

Having just completed the Avatar series this picture seems such a godly state of Avatar.

Great start for your 50th. :D Oh, yes I'll keep bringing that up. You are officially super OLD now! :D

Karen, I can't tell you how encouraged I am by your statement! I am going to figure out how the heck to market these. Of this I know nothing, but I am going to learn! Thank you my friend. :-)

Rispa, thank you!

Linda, thanks!

Aniket, you go ahead and rub it in my young friend. I feel good about my age and I feel it is going to be an auspicious year. 49 years of getting ready for the big bang 50. :-) Thanks kiddo!

Sometimes it's the beauty of something else. Not us. When our time is done.

OMG the colors are mesmerizing, Cat. I hope you will create an art book with all of the headless Buddhas - and/or sell these prints online.

We crumble we cannot help this....
so profound in its simplicity - the whole thought is reflective.

The lotus needs to root itself in the mud yet never flowers until the stem is well above the swampy waters in which the Buddha sits. We fade because that is our nature but the flower of what we are becomes a nutrient for them that follow after us.

Wonderful eye consuming composition Cat.

The artwork is fantastic, Cat. Yes, you should market these... hmmm, what a rough word, "market", when near such beauty...

The poem, too... it's truth and beauty are heartbreaking...

astounding collage and beautiful words to accompany it. "beauty grows from the dust" - reminds me that it takes a fire to make a phoenix.

Hey! Happy, happy birthday!! (Sorry I missed the party. :( )

This series of paintings is fabulous, Cat! And I agree with others, this one is my favorite. The orchid is gorgeous.

I hope something grows from my dust. I tend to have the opposite of a green thumb in life, perhaps I'll be more successful in death. LOL

I too, find this the most beautiful so far Cat. The colours are amazing, the gorgeous orchid express's hope that not all is lost when we go and that our lives had a purpose.

Jason, so true.

K, thank you! I'm really thinking about it and trying to figure it out. This is really all I want to do anymore!

Walking Man, I did not know that but I love it. Thanks for that, I will have to do a headless buddha with lotus as a part of my series, and I will dedicate that one to you. :-)

Vesper, I know, it is rough, I've never been very interested in marketing anything I do. It's just so NOT the fun part. However, I am really motivated with these, it just feels right. Thank you! Also for the lovely poem.

Hi Deepa! It's been a long time, great to see you again. And thank you. :-)

Joaquin, thank you!

Aine, it's not your thumb but your blood those plants want (feed me seymour!). You grow many beautiful things Aine, and even when you pass this will be true. :-)

Margaret, thank you! I feel that too.

Electricity, fire, devastation...and then, the softest, creeping petals.

We move in cycles of fragility. There are no true endings. Thanks for reminding us, Cat.

Your collage is too beautiful for words. All of the elements work separately, but together, they create a gorgeous constellation of connection and meaning.

I think there's a lesson in that. ;)

I don't know much about art, but I know what I love. Excellent, Cat! I love the color scheme. And yes, I would hang it on my wall, too. You should definitely market your beautiful work.

I also love your beautiful words. "As beauty grows from the dust" says it all. Fantastic!!

Vesper is so right, Cat! But I would love it if you could do a complete series of these. They are marvelously beautiful.

Cat, this is stunning. How can you know that I actually mean that, how can I make you know that? Leap of faith, I suppose.

I wonder what would happen if we spent all of the energy we spend trying not to "crumble" in other ways. What could we be, create, love, contribute? Perhaps some of us could come close to creating something as lovely as Blue Moon with Buddha and Orchid. Perhaps some of us already have. :)

Happy birthday, dear friend. I'm sorry I'm late.
