I want to go to the beach.
Your dad could have been a good JAMES BOND. He has that smile. :)
And you look no less than any bond girl yourself. :P
I seriously need to go out and see the world a bit more. I really really need to.
Hooah. On the stony beach with the castle on the point, knowing the truth and it being palatable in the moment of blue skies and bright sun, this moment beyond all the other days and moments.
What a splendid photo, Cat. Both you and your dad look so happy. Oh, those halcyon days - how tranquil and carefree they were. Loved your haiku - a perfect tribute.
A fabulous photo Cat!
You and your dad look so happy and relaxed together. Lovely tribute to him.
Hope he gets to read your haiku.
Hey Cat--I LIKE that! You're lookin' good, girl....careful of those "sticky-buns" from the bakery, though!
Hi Everyone, this is my dad and in front of Le Mont-Sant-Michel in 1977.
I am living with him now, taking care of him in his old age. He did see this yesterday, and then we went to a very nice brunch.
The back story on the poem is that we had a raging fight about culture in America (or the lack thereof) over an ice cream Sundae on the Isle of Jersey a few days before. It got so heated that I got up and walked off and he had to come looking for me. I think we were talking about different things. Neither of us was really 'wrong' per se. However, I'll never forget the gift he gave me of that summer in Europe, and what I saw and learned there.
Wow! Seriously gorgeous!
I'm a day late, 'cause I was at Dad's:) But I hope you and your awesome Dad had a beautiful day. Is it uncouth to tell you how good looking I think you both are? I love the poem and the picture!
A beautiful photo of the two of you, and I love the story behind it. Your smiles do wonders to demonstrate the bond between father and daughter.
Every argument should find this kind of resolution! :)
Just beautiful... The photo, the place, the people, the feelings...
i loved how you told us the story in haiku... this was a brilliant gift to him...
