Long legs unfurling
They descend, speckled tongues wag
Did I hear a laugh?

It's orchid season. See another beautiful orchid at Sarah's blog. Thanks to everyone who submitted poetry (especially to Sarah for the audio!) for this week's extravaganza which will be posted on Friday.

what a description, excellent!
Orchids! Alive! Whispering, sighing, thinking, knowing. All Beauty!
Thank you!
Love the personification!
is that a flower? it looks like a space alien from this angle!!
oh i see now. the poem makes it clear. dur~sorry
One floated down
Then a few more
And now you cannot see the grass.
:)
Flowers always inspire so many of us to pick up a pen or to find a camera. Trees are showing off their blooms right now in NJ. Have to get some photos since it is such a short time of beauty...All the best, thanks for sharing.
Oh yes you did Catherine. Can you listen to me laughing?
Your writing always makes me wanna dance.
And I wont let Sarah get all the praises from you... ;-) ;-)
@ LGL: So youre practicing here too, han? :-D This is our training ground it seems. lolz
Hi Cat,
You always impress me with your unexpected poetry. The orchid has a special sound in the language of flowers. I think you hear it secretly.
I am still undecided between two of your lovely poems to post for the Poetry Month on my blog (The catalyst and when Moons fall out of Orbit). Maybe I will post both of them!
BEAUTIFUL!
The picture and the poem.
The iamge is so intriguing.
OMG! That is not just another orchid! That thing has tentacles...and is definitely laughing at us. Wow! :)
I'm glad you posted this delightful haiku. I was so curious about your orchids after your comment on my blog. They are an alien species, indeed. No wonder they bewitch people so easily.
(And thanks for the mention! :D Can't wait for Friday, to see all the entries...)
