An Angel for Annie

On her wedding day
Annie sat with the angels,
Her toe dipped in tears.

In memory of Annie Le, a Yale Student who was to be married on Sunday September 13th. Instead of a wedding on that day, Annie's senseless murder was confirmed. With deepest condolences to her family, fiance and friends, your pool of tears is felt by the world.

Beautiful and heartfelt, Catherine. I cannot wrap my brain around what happened to this poor girl. What kind of monsters are loose in this world?

What a beautiful and heartbreaking remembrance. I am moved that you were moved enough to create this.

Your words capture our feelings and no doubt those of her loved ones: Even if she is with the angels, which I so want to believe, we don't want her there. We want her here, with her fiance, dressed in white, smiling from ear to ear, heading off into the sunset with her best friend and lover. So your words at once soothe the soul, and still make the spirit scream a guttural, jagged, "No!!!!!"

Such a sincere memorial poem for a young woman taken away, from those who loved her, all too soon. Senseless and immensely sad.

Oh, Cat, how unbelievably sad... Your painting and your poem are more than beautiful, but I so much wish you hadn't a reason to create them...

I've been so moved by this tragedy, too. Perhaps it's the horrible coincidence of her wedding day being the date they found her which makes it more notable than the "usual" daily reports of murders.

You've created a beautiful tribute to Annie.

That's really sad. So very sad.

I don't believe in afterlife. But its things like these that make me want to...
